Comfort

Posted on Nov 21st, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael

So last night before I went to bed I wrote a page about comfort. I feel strongly that the reason things do not get done and changes are not made is becuase people are too comfortable. We know that the average american lives wealthier than the kings of the middle ages. We have so many luxuries that keep us entertained and comfortable. We have diversions of all sorts, playlists, television and movies, sports, the internet, plenty of food at the store, a nice comfy bed.
I know for a fact that if some of these comforts were compromised, people would do something about it to get them back. I'm trying to look at this as the big picture though. Human rights, war, monetary policy, foreign policy, debt, savings, health care, all of these things are highly debated with only the elite people in charge taking care of them or not.
I think if people were nudged a little bit more into being uncomfortable in the emotional sense and the sensible patriotic sense in terms of brotherhood, that we could make positive change. People sometimes stumble upon the truth, but they generally pick themselves up and hurry off like nothing ever happened. Well, I am going to stay uncomfortable and educate myself about our problems and concerns and write about them. I may be physically comfortable but not entirely emotionally comfortable. People say, "out of sight, out of mind" or "ignorance is bliss." To turn your back on the problems of today is to betray yourself and your family and other people as well.
So being comfortable and being a consumer merely holds us back. Start to be uncomfortable like those who are in trouble to learn about solutions. Produce solutions! My contribution will be through writing and dialogue. This is a good start!

What was the last work of art you remember seeing?

I spent a good part of the day yesterday looking at Alex Grey's artwork which includes paintings, drawings, and sculptures. A small piece of his artwork is shown for my icon on this website.
Alex's artwork is very mystical and revealing. It is obvioulsy very spiritual and humble to man and earth. He actually has a painting titled, "Gaia" Everyone should check it out.
I love his art work because it is romantic, it is a world that is not revealed to us but still exists. Alex tries to show people through his art how special life is, how amazing it is to be human, to be on earth, and to work to praise the creator.
He also provided the artwork for one of my favorite bands, Tool. Check out his website or do a quick google search, his work is magical.

On the healthy path

Yes, I know the way, but walking it is different(if we allow it to be). Major things I need to do to become more "spiritual" or just healthy is---

1. Become a vegetarian. We are what we eat. We need to treat animals better. You can tell alot about a society by how they treat their animals. No intelligent person sees eating animals as healthy. Lo and BEHOLD! The Earth hath roots!!! This will have a profound effect on karma too.

2. Purity - There are certain things we all do that we can control. I think resisting temptation makes us stronger. Vices can always be conquered and turned into virtue. But the funny thing is, is that the virtues are always more meaningful after experiencing the vices. So shall we conquer them. Which is why evil exists, so that we may know its alternative.

3. Yoga+Meditation- they go hand in hand. I do soo much mind exercise now and not enough body, so I will combine the two in yoga.

Those are three major steps I will take as soon as I get to college. I'm working on them now obviously though, what better time than now? But the environment i'll be living in in January will allow more focus and education. I fast every sunday, I don't eat. Its very important to allow the inner workings not to always concentrate on the food in your stomach but to be allowed to cleanse other areas too. Fight the urge to eat.
I remember one day when I was in Charleston S.C. I felt total spiritual freedom, I was with my best friend Chris who I am now separated from now by many miles, and I had been practicing fasting and meditation and was volunteering at a literacy place in the slums and I felt as though I could see auras and people were reacting to me without me even speaking. I have not felt it since...but I will again. I was living in a stressful situation so I moved away from it. Too bad it was only one day.
Imagine if we all were so gifted in meditation that we could protest the government and set ourselves ablaze like this man.

What's your favorite form of creative expression?

Posted on Nov 24th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 24, 2008:

Definetly writing. Poems, essays, letters, articles, blogs, research papers. Creative use of language is so much fun and gets thoughts out on paper that would otherwise escape.

I also like just talking, sure the verbal part is fun, but the non-verbal part is very creative! And fun! I like trying other accents...heh
Art as well, painting, drawing, but it has to be romantic.

What was the best news you heard recently?

End_20the_20fed_20web1

I was very pleased to see that there are still some hard working reporters who are trying to show us the truth, whether or not they know it. This is against the federal reserve which I would like to see spread to every major city. Even people outside the US agree.

Great numbers of people across the USA protested the fraudulent federal banking system with demands to end it by supporting Ron Paul's House Resolution. There were articles about it and pictures taken. Of this, I am very excited and proud that people are actually researching their money as it is all stolen from us by the government socialists. We have to pay it back. Who wants debt? Let the companies fail so new ones can sprout up.

Give us sound money too.

What makes something worthwhile?

Posted on Nov 26th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 26, 2008:

Anything that satisfies the selfish wants of the ego. We all do things because we want to do them, unless we are slaves or something.
Something is worthwhile if it brings some type of satisfaction to the ego, whether it be helping yourself, helping others, or helping the earth.
A utilitarian would say something is worth while if it brings out the best good or highest good. Only if something brings the most positives is it worth while.
I wish we were all a sort of epicurean so we would see that intellectual stimulation is the highest good over sensual, but materialistic societies and economies thwart this effort.

Something is worthwhile if it practices virtue and harmony.
Something is not worthwhile if it brings negative unbalance.

I think I may have made a bore of today's question....

heheheheeh

My response to "control" post in Gaia Lounge

Posted on Nov 28th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
Control

What do I control? What is the extent of your personal liberty?
What do I really know about the control over the things in my life?

There is always more time for inquiry, research, and communication. The beauty is in the creating of the knowledge. When we research our lives, we create new lives for ourselves. Its like we are our own gods, creating for ourselves. We can call this "waking up" and stepping outside the norm or status quo.

It seems that we do not have a lot of control in our lives. I do not control my mode of transportation. I rely on someone else to make my car and bring me the gas and oil for it.

I buy food but I do not see where it is grown, I don't know the risks of the herbi-fungi-pesti-cides and whatever else they use to grow it. (any other -cides too) I don't know how the animals are treated that i eat.

I do have control over that though, I will be a vegetarian starting Jan 2009. That I can control. I can control what I eat.

I also do not have sound money. I do not control the buying power of my money. The federal reserve bankers do control inflation, deflation, interest rates, and the whole business, production, and trade of this country. They control debt and credit. This is a huge problem and many wars in history have been fought over the money changers.

I control my amount of participation in this society. I believe that we are all born into nature. My parents just happen to meet and have sex in the United States, so here I am in the middle of this society. At any time I can venture to the woods and live there.
I have chosen not to though because I want to fight for more control over my life so that other people may have freedom too. Through writing, speaking, art, and whatever else i can get my hands on.

I also do not control how much debt my government gets into and how much taxes will have to be paid back. This is absurd.

I can dodge taxes though becuase I believe that the income tax was never ratified by the required 3/4 of states because the senators were on holiday when it was introduced.

I control all of my beliefs. I control who and what I love. I control who and what I hate. I control my education. I can get books and ask anybody questions.

The one thing I wish I had was independent income so I could be more independent. This is not my main goal in life though.

If we sit back and look around and see what things we do control and what things we do not control we may choose to fight for more control. I wish this were true for all.

Thanks!

Thoughts for the day after thanksgiving.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear ___________________________, Date:____________________

PLEASE

Monetary Reform needs to be made law to end the current financial crisis.

PLEASE

Enact Monetary Reform to settle debt and resist inflation and deflation. Inflation is a hidden tax that results in reduction of our buying power.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE PLAN

1. Pay off the debt with debt free U.S. notes. Create debt free U.S. notes that can be used to pay taxes to gain acceptance and widespread issuance.

2. Abolish Fractional Reserve banking.

As the debt is paid off, the reserve requirements of all banks and financial institutions would be raised proportionally at the same time to absorb the new U.S. notes which would be deposited and become the banks increased reserves.

3. Repeal the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 and the National Banking Act of 1864. HR 2755 by Rep. Ron Paul. These acts delegate the money power to a private banking monopoly. They must be repealed and the money power handed back to the Treasury where they were under President Abraham Lincoln.

4. No banker or person in any way affiliated with banking institutions should be allowed to regulate banking procedures.

5. Withdraw the U.S. from the IMF(International Monetary fund), the BIS(Bank for International Settlements), and the World Bank.

-The danger of a severe depression would be eliminated. No sharp declines in the stock of money would occur thus not causing a depression.

- Study the banking decisions of Andrew Jackson(who beat the bankers), Abraham Lincoln, Martin van Buren, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson.

DEBT FREE MONEY MUST BE ISSUED SO THAT WE MAY FREE OURSELVES FROM THE CONTROL OF THE MONEY MASTERS IN CONTROL OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK.

These procedures must be completed so that we may all enjoy the liberties given to us by our Constitution and Bill of Rights that our wise and noble Founding Fathers and Revolutionary Soldiers fought for so long to guarantee for us.

Put your name and address here.
GET TO WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
