What is your wish for this month?

Posted on Dec 1st, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 01, 2008:

Thoreau_quote
No more terrorist attacks. I wish the the terrorists would all get nice girlfriends who could cook them a nice meal and let them, "watch the game," instead of going out and killing people.

I wish that all the rich people who are pondering buying something really expensive for their loved ones donate that money to charity instead. We are all so spoiled and there are people clinging to life.

I wish people would find more joy in their journeys and not in the end of them. (pay checks for example) Some people just do things for money. If you are in that position, cut your losses and quit; find a better calling. I wish that for people.

I also wish that religious fundamentalists who are narrow-minded and discriminating would go to their rival's religious meeting place and learn their ways.

I wish all wars the misinformed soldiers are fighting would cease in an instant. I wish all contractors out of Iraq.

I wish the armed forces would stop using DEPLETED URANIUM bombs. These bombs cause birth deformities and tragic illnesses to INNOCENT people.

I wish for no more financial bailouts and the rejection of already paid bailouts. I wish for the creation of a debt free money system in the united states so that money may be the servant of humanity instead of our ruler.

And personally, (the former not being any less personal), I would like for my father to stay in one piece while he is in jail and for my grandmother (who is 87) to have a safe holiday traveling season so she can come home and we can bake cookies. I want to be with family before i go to school in January.

Thank you for reading my wishes. :)

What do you believe about karma?

Posted on Dec 3rd, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 03, 2008:

Karma-1
Karma  is real but I hate to think you inherit your parent's karma. Is it a never ending cycle? Tabula rasa, John Locke, born with a clean slate? I would go as far as to say karma effects only the current generation unless the karma has been severly disturbed and harmony is unbalanced. I think everyone in America is cursed because of exploits like killing off the Indians and stealing land, slavery, unjust wars...... Thus we see cancer and obesity, aids, wars...is this believable? I think it can be to many. I don't think I sould get away free. I am a white man who's relatives are from Italy. This is red man's land, Abnaki, Skowhegan, Maine, USA. This town has history of killing indians, all of our states are named after the Indians our ancestors murdered. I would say some kind of karma is there.

Maybe those responsible for collateral damage(yes, unfortunate things to happen to innocent people) will have bad karma and those who cause and cover up something like Chernobyl, those who decided to drop the atom bombs....things like that. But maybe Chernobyl was Karma because of the millions dead from previous wars, maybe they all had it coming. There is no family in Russia who did not lose someone in ww2. So much bad karma possibly? This is just for an example. The radioactive cloud spread throughout Europe...karma?

It is interesting to think of karma and how it is in every part of our lives. Say for example in America where we generate a lot  of trash. Say I go and buy a soda that's in a plastic container, I drink the soda and throw the bottle out my window. The result is that this bottle will take so long to decompose and together with more plastic can cause pollution. My contributing to this could send ripples through my karma becuase I have created unbalance. I think us trash creators deserve it too. I believe we should live our lives cleanly and when we die have not left the earth worse off. But that's thrown out now. Is this extreme? Making trash can bring bad fortune? Yes, I believe so.

I would also link Karma to Newton's third law of motion which says, "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." This goes for EVERYTHING. This is why if I could I would become a silent monk and live peaceably but I have much work to do. I would be a monk if I lived in an ideal world where monk's protests actually worked. For every time we turn on our vehicle we omit pollution but we also get to go to the supermarket. Everytime we drink excessively we get hammered then have a hangover. Everytime we indulge in sex we experience stimuating orgasms but we become more like animals, inhuman, lustful. We lose purity. Everyday should be spent trying to suppress the animal inside us so as to experience purity.  I also believe that in purity God flows through man.

So, I believe strongly in Karma. You get what you give. Wu wei. We live so strangely as if we betray ALL of history. Learn from the past. It is ver funny that history teachers in the past have said, " teach history so we do not make the same mistakes." That would be very beneficial if they actually taught us the truth in history class. So goes the failing American educational system. Schools are only collections of books, so please, go out and find the ones based on truth.

And that ends my declaration on karma.

Thank you,
Michael

On what do you most enjoy spending money?

Posted on Dec 3rd, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 03, 2008:

Irregular-apparel-i-heart-free-speech
BOOKS! ART! EDUCATION! I am constantly seeking wisdom and truth. I will support the right of every person to his/her opinion and free speech and think the best thing we can do is put down standardized textbooks and read real books and support authors. To deny history and the wisdom of the written word from such brilliant people who came before us is to betray ourselves and them all.

I also will spend money on music and other art. I think they are links to spirituality. Since everything is a vibration of some sort, sound is a bridge...

Are you mentally divergent? Or do you lust for selfish sensory stimulation? I am, and I sure do, but everything in moderation.

There should come a time in every person's life where they feel the urge to seek the truth. My choice is to support those who exercise it so we don't all have amnesia and can be treated like sheep.

If you could give anything to someone you loved, what would it be

Posted on Dec 3rd, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 06, 2007:

Aura_chakra
I would give them self-confidence and self-awareness. The best thing you can do for a person is tell them they are extremely significant. I would tell them the truth; that they are powerful, radiant, amazing beings. I would tell them there are no limits to your capabilities. I would give them imagination and wonder. I would give them the power to help them realize what awesome beings we are and that whatever we percieve clearly we can do with ease.

People who say they can't generally won't. I would teach them to create their own limits and to take control of their life.  To see what people can actually do we need not  to give them material things but to give them wisdom, love, and worth. After this we can then ask people what they want, and advise them to do it. No life should be a waste in self-pity.

What a sad day it is when a person gives up hope!!!!!!

How can we best prepare our children for the future?

Posted on Dec 3rd, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 24, 2008:

Image002
I would prepare children by giving them nothing and then seeing what they did with it.

Too many times have children been given everything and then become nothing.

If you don't give them anything they will go out and find what it is they want.

I would beforehand teach them to read, think, speak, and write.

After that I would ask them what they wanted most, and then advise them to go out and get it.

If you could 'uninvent' something, what would it be?

Posted on Dec 4th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 21, 2007:

No-tv
The television.

People in "first world" indutrial nations know significantly more movies and tv shows than books. They can quote more useless trivia and pop culture than meaningful quotes from important historical figures. This is a disgrace to intelligence. Generations of people grew up with television and that's all they know. The television is the gospel and it is the most awesome propoganda force ever in history. heaven forbid people read books...

If there were no television there would be immense competition in journalism and publishing. There would be many more intelligent authors and more information out there instead of mindless entertainment.

Like what Bill Hicks said, the great comedian, "if you are in marketing.....kill yourself. No seriously, this is not some joke where i'm getting to something, seriously kill yourself. You are the spawn of satan." Marketing preys on humans for money. It's real sad.

What would you miss most about your home?

Posted on Dec 7th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 07, 2008:

I can answer this because I moved away from home for 3 years. I moved from Skowhegan, Maine, to Charleston, S.C. 2005-2008

What I missed most was my family of course.

It was different for me living in an area with such diverse classes of people. In downtown, millionaires lived literally 1 mile from the poorest, sickest people in town. I have never seen such diversity in classes before and it was very troubling. So I missed the way people mixed together so easily back home. It seemed that money was the only important thing and social standing in Charleston. Who likes that? Certain people won't talk to you in charleston unless you go to their curch or look a certain way. Such bullshit!

I also missed the clean air smell. Charleston reeks of "puff mud" the salty, spongy mud and sea residue. Maine has a clean air smell, piney, and fresh.

I missed the four seasons too. It is too hot in Charleston, and there is no snow. There werent any mountains either. Everything is flat in the lowcountry. I love driving down the old canada road in Maine to see the mountains. When everything is flat, its boring to look at. The moutians are like the earth's fingers reaching to the heavens!

Of course I missed old friends too but they have since moved away from Skowhegan. A lot are still in Maine in Portland and I will visit them. I moved back to Skowhegan in July of 2008. I'll be moving to Orono in January to go to college.

Alright, take care!

Black Flowers - what's more beautiful?

Posted on Dec 7th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
Nem003
i was listening to the song Teardrop by Massive Attack and was dumfounded by the lyric, "black flowers blooming" How could I not have thought of a black flower before???

Pansy, Black prince
Elepant ears, Black magic & Illustris
Geranium, Solstice chocolate
Tulip Night queen
Torenia, Clown violet
Nemophila Penny black

These are some black flowers. They suggest a soulful duality but something much more in that it blooms into black. Everything beautiful has something ugly and they are more better for it. Its a pragmatic thought that I wanted to remember.

What is the most difficult thing about love?

Posted on Dec 12th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 12, 2008:

Love

Loving your enemies. There are people who have done terrible things but we must learn to love them and understand them nonetheless.

A great example is when the Amish had their tragedy when a man killed school children and then himself. Instead of hating this person publicly, they forgave him publicly. This is love in practice, to me. Understanding this terrible deed and forgiving to bring positive feelings to the community instead of frustration and hatred.

In order to be truly free we must not fear and hate. The difficult part is loving even your enemies.

That's basically the paradox of our lives. Shall we live in fear, or in love? That's everyone's choice and its obvious what the answer is.

Another Scholarship Essay. Please Read.

Posted on Dec 17th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael

We see the manipulation of interest rates by the Fed. This economic control that commands payment of debts seizes the spending power of borrowers. If borrowers pay debts of $150.00 instead of $125.00, their lifestyles are injured. Our monetary policy is concentrated in one institution. The Federal Reserve has a monopoly on fiat currency and has unchecked authority which answers to no government. It controls inflation, deflation, and currency scarcity, interest rates and issuing, and is influenced by foreign parties. The Fed also uses fractional reserve banking that doesn't require a reserve equal to its deposits. Therefore, the payment of debt is impossible because money doesn't exist to be paid back. This is perpetual debt control over borrowers who continue to borrow. I would advise the President to kill the bank by paying off national debt, creating sound money free from congenital debt, and abolishing the Fed and fractional reserve banking systems. This would constitute men the rulers of money instead of the opposite. Andrew Jackson knew this, and his bank battle must be fought again to ensure a prosperous economy free from panics for ourselves and our posterity. Congress alone has the power of coinage.

This is extremely important.

What's your favorite part of this season?

Posted on Dec 26th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 26, 2008:

The cold season is the hibernation period where we can all catch up on knowledge and prepare for the coming spring and summer.

My favorite part is that nature is showing us that it is resting and waiting patiently for the sun to rise in the sky for longer periods of warmth. Soon, a new beginning will be grasped by nature to once again grow out and be fruitful.

What lifts your spirits?

Posted on Dec 29th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 28, 2008:

Seeing nature in action, the sun, tree branches blowing in the wind, birds at the bird feeder, mountains in the distance, flowers especially.

But also, I love to see a driven person, one who travels the road less taken, but a straight road, right to where they want to be. My spirits are lifted when I see a person who knows that are responsible for making a heaven or hell out of this earth.

My spirits are lifted everytime I learn something new.

What was the last thing you smiled about?

Posted on Dec 30th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 30, 2008:

Discipline, and the idea of prosperity that I am writing about and will live.

The fact that I can make this life a heaven or hell through philosophy, which is the love of wisdom.

The comfort and excitement that I know brave people exist and are working towards prosperity regardless of any outside false conflicts.

I also smiled while reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand last night, it is so brilliant and I am so thankful that authors leave us the gifts of wisdom.

An the SUN IS SHINING ! ! !  ! !  ! !  !!  ! !  ! !  !

Yesterday I went outside in my t-shirt in WINTER and built an IGLOO with our christmas tree as the roof.....haha its funny.

Thank you! Buh-bye! I must continue with my writing.

What's your favorite thing about being alone?

Posted on Dec 30th, 2008 by Michael : consciousness Michael
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 02, 2007:

My favorite thing to do when i'm alone is to analyze myself  and life to see what I am doing in life.

Before I go to bed I recap the day, I think about conflicts and conquests, and about other ways to approach them in the future. This is a continuing learning experience I do each night. An added bonus is that when I do this and try real hard to think about everything I did that day, that night I have vivid dreams. Some of those dreams even help me prepare for the future and think even more! I think it keeps my consciousness working in a contuining cycle which improves all of my abilities.

I also read many books, write, learn and play music, and relax.

Thanks again!

-Michael.
