How can we best prepare our children for the future?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 24, 2008:
I would prepare children by giving them nothing and then seeing what they did with it.
Too many times have children been given everything and then become nothing.
If you don't give them anything they will go out and find what it is they want.
I would beforehand teach them to read, think, speak, and write.
After that I would ask them what they wanted most, and then advise them to go out and get it.
